I am looking forward to my second annual Aug (2009) trip to MN when I will make a visit to the Porter House Steak and Seafood establishment. I cannot get walleye in Colorado... so this is my chance to eat up. I was there in 2008 and loved the food, atmosphere and other people at the bar. It was great.... I can't wait.

I have eaten at the Porterhouse at least 20 times in the last 4 years and I can't say I have been dissapointed even once. As much as I like steak I am finding myself ordering the "Shore lunch" walleye most of the time. It's the best fish on the menu (in my opinion) and has been consistently cooked just right. The service is always 5 star. The wait staff is well trained and even when it's busy (which is most of the time) they are always watching to make sure your needs are met.

Hidden in Little Canada, the oldest community in Minnesota, is a tiny gem of a steakhouse that has delighted us every time we have dined there. We have visited the restaurant several times, since the first week it opened. We have been very, very pleased with the food and service every time. The most remarkable thing is the quality of the steaks. I would put them on par with the St. Paul Grill or Lindy's. Each time we have dined there, all of the side dishes were also very nicely done. If one were to imagine what a restaurant steak experience should exactly be- top quality, flavorful meat, seasoned perfectly, done appropriately, and with each side dish exquisitely done, that would be Porterhouse. The particular site of this restaurant, 35E and Little Canada Rd. has seen every restaurant in this building fail since 1971. Porterhouse has been at this location several years, seems to be busy every night, and has a wonderfully solid reputation. In each of our visits we have seen a consistency of excellence, and we have been pleased by the attentiveness of the wait staff.

Dined there on 10/16/06 and were not impressed. My mother and my wife both got potatoes that were burned. They traded them in for green beans which were ok. My wife's pork chops were pink inside when she ordered them medium. I ordered my steak medium and it was rarer than my father's steak, which he ordered medium rare. All in all, it's a decent place, but I don't like it when food is not cooked as ordered. Pretty pricy too.
