I have dye all over my forehead and ears. As my stylist was away I had to try and wipe them off with my hands. She also didnt quote me correctly. It was absolutly ridiculous! I had to pay 100 dollars for a color I didnt ask for and walked out practically in tears. They say there is a 100 percent satisfaction garuntee but when I called, IN TEARS, and expresesd my concern to the manager she said ABSOLUTLY NO refunds. They said I have a two week period to decide if I want to go back and get my hair recolored. Will I go back, no, because if thats the kind of service I get, would it get any better the next time around after asking for a refund, my guess would be no. This was the salon in St. Anthony

My old stylist retired and finding a new stylist seemed daunting. After trying accolades, salon schools, and a number of other places (to my dissatisfaction), I found Ficocello's in St Paul and I love it! Amanda cut my hair and she did a wonderful job. She listened and gave me exactly what I asked for. She was fun to talk to and did a great job on my hair. I am definitely going back.

I hesitate to write a bad review, but I used this site to make my decision to go to Ficocellos training salon in St. Paul, and hopefully my experience will help others make a better decision. What I had done: Cut and color (foil and glaze) Pros: My stylist was very sweet, and the rest of the staff was fairly professional. My cut and color did not take as long as I had anticipated (only about 2 hours). Also, reasonable prices (about $100). Cons: Not a great result. My hair color ended up really weird. Instead of adding richness to my brown hair and throwing in some subtle caramel highlights, the stylist for some reason turned my roots an odd red shade. The ends of my hair turned out much darker, and the result is that I look like I'm going gray. It's not at all flattering on me, and it's not what I asked for (in fact, I was emphatic about not having any shade of red). The cut was just as weird. Not a terrible job - just not what I asked for and not flattering. Also, the stylist cut my bangs unreasonably short. In her defense, I didn't specify what I wanted done to them, but in my defense, I thought she would ask before she started chopping away. The other strange thing is that no one asked me for my opinion afterward. You would think that a training salon would solicit feedback. I didn't mention my unhappiness b/c 1) I figured they didn't care; and 2) there was nothing they could do about it after the fact. The final disappointment was that I left the salon with streaks of color on my forehead and cheeks. The stylist let my color drip all over my face while I was under the dryer and then didn't do much to get it off afterward. It took 3 days to wear off. The bottom line: I won't go back, and I'm gonna need someone to fix the cut and color.

Have always loved my cuts there and I am very picky. Most current techniques. The stylists are extremely friendly, and you can't go wrong because your cut is checked by a trainer. If you want to save some money and want a good cut/style, check it out.
